Announcing the Arrival of John's New Tile Setting Book
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am pleased (thrilled, actually) to announce the arrival of my new book, Tile Your World. I've been working on it for the past year and a half, making it as informative and complete as I possibly can. The full title is Tile Your World: John Bridge's New Tile Setting Book. It has been published by a brand new publishing company called Mistflower Press, a company that Patti and I just happen to have founded. ;-)
Initially, the book will be sold on the Tile Your World web site (and, of course, on my real web site, John Bridge.com) and on other tile-related sites around the country. It will be featured on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, Borders, and on other Internet based book-selling sites. It will also be available in major bookstores throughout the U.S. and Canada, but this will take some time. Like my first book, Ceramic Tile Setting (McGraw-Hill, 1992), Tile Your World will ultimately be available in public libraries across the land.
Here is a brief description of what Tile Your World contains:
-- 248 text pages crammed full of images: 277 black and white photos and 26 drawings for a total of over 300 illustrations.
-- 24 pages of full-color pictures: Everything from showers and floors to patios and porches. Countertops and back splashes, as well as mosaic art work by some of the country's top artists.
-- Sidebars and articles by top professionals in the tile and building industries, some of whom you've met on the JB Forums. Besides the author, there are thirteen contributors to the book.
-- Index, appendices and cover art that is out of this world. Both the book and its cover were designed by renowned Canadian book designer Rachelle Painchaud-Nash.
-- A revised rendition of John's famous passage, "Standing Around."
-- Finally, you get a mug shot-I-mean-very-nice-portrait of yours truly on the back cover. That in itself should sell the book big time. ;-)
The price is $23.95 U.S. or $31.50 Canadian, plus shipping. If you buy the book on Tile Your World.com or on John Bridge.com, it will be inscribed and signed by the author.
The book is on the shelves and ships within 24 hours. Since I don't have to worry about infringing my own copyright, I'm going to give you a peek at the book -- the cover and a few of the pages. You will view the images at very low resolution.
I would show you the back cover, but the portrait would probably overwhelm and distract you from reading and enjoying the sample pages. :-)
